Cowboy Bebop’s The Real Folk Blues

Special Performance featuring Steve Blum and other Artists

If you were watching anime at the dawn of Adult Swim, then Cowboy Bebop has a special place in your heart. As shows came and went with the times, the bounty hunters Spike Spiegel and Jet Black remained on the nightly lineup for what seemed like forever.

Now, contributing artists of the show have banded together to bring us a special performance of the intro song that played on so many televisions at midnight on September 2, 2001.

The performance features multiple vocalists harmonizing to guitar chords of the opening of the song. The dynamic editing does a great job of showcasing each persons’ talents they bring to the performance.

Original voice actors Beau Billingslea and Steve Blum make appearances quoting their respective animated counterparts. Beau’s portrayal of Jet Black in Bebop was so heralded that the studio had him put do voice over work on multiple other projects.

Steve Blum, voice of Spike, sends us off with a very classic quote that ended the series each night. See you space cowboy.

If Cowboy Bebop or other classic Toonami/Adult Swim inspired you, now might be the time to look into a new career path as a voice over artist. You can now study under Steve Blum and learn real trade secrets from one of the most respected talents in the business.
